Almost

Deuteronomy 34:1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,

2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea,

3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.

4 And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

Moses almost got to the Promised Land but because of his disobedience he never got to enter in with the children of Israel. God had told him to speak to the rock but in anger he struck the rock. That seems like a small thing but disobedience is disobedience.

So as punishment he never crossed over, but, God took him up on Mt. Nebo and let him see the land before he died. If you read on down in verse 7 the Bible says his eye had not dimmed nor his strength had not weakened. He saw the land but never entered in, he almost was there but never crossed over.

There was a young man that came to Jesus one day seeking eternal life and was so close to receiving it. But he left that day without it, he almost got it but he didn’t.

Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

He almost found what he was looking for, eternal life, but, riches stood in his way,

Paul preached to Felix and he trembled, did not accept the Gospel. It wasn’t a convenient time. He almost was converted as the word made him tremble but convenience hindered him. He told Paul the following.

Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Then King Agrippa was almost persuade to be a Christian but was not. He was almost persuaded but not enough to accept Christ. As far as we know the young ruler, Felix, and Agrippa were never saved, at least it is not recorded if they were.

Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Don’t be an ALMOST, accept Christ while there is time, don’t let things of this world get in your way.

HAVE A GREAT DAY
