HELP
HELP
Will you agree with me that we all need help on a daily basis? It may be to get a door opened when you have your hands full or as serious as being in the hospital in excruciating pain with no relief in sight. We all need help in one way or another. Much of our help comes from those around us, spouse, friends or just a passerby. But many times our need is not one that just anyone can help with. It takes one with bigger and more powerful hands than man. That is what David was talking about in the following verse.
Psalm 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
In the previous chapter he states the following:
Psalm 120:1 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
David knew who to call out to, the One who could and would help him in his time of need. We need to practice and learn to call out to the Lord in our time of need. But many times we look everywhere else first and when we have exhausted all the self help books, council of others, or whatever you do when you are in need, then we as a last resort call on the Lord. One fellow said it like this “I’ve tried everything else, what have I got to loose, I’ll ask the Lord to help me”. Now we might not say this with our mouths but, many times our actions speak the same words. Look what scripture teaches us on who our help is.
Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Psalm 54:4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. **
Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
I hope you know where your help is today. If you need Him, He is as near as your lips. Call out to Him and He will come to your aid. It may not be just exactly the way you want, but He will answer. Jesus said that He would come to the disciples, He is no respecter of persons, so He will come to us as well.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
The Lord is our HELP !!!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah, Praise His Holy Name!!!!!!!!!
Have a Great Day!!
