Real Love

REAL LOVE

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Jesus demonstrated his love for us, in dying on the cross for us. Friend I want you to know that you are loved. You may not feel loved, may not see the love of your fellow man toward you, but be of good cheer you are loved. Jesus loved you enough to die for you, God loved you enough that He sent his only begotten Son to die for you. That is love. There have been times when I haven’t felt loved, even though my parents loved me, my wife loved me and brothers and sisters in Christ loved me, but the devil kept telling me no one loved me. That was a lie and if you are feeling that way today don’t believe it. You are loved.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Get this, when we were unlovable, in sin, God showed his love toward us. We didn’t deserve it but God loved us so much he couldn’t help but extend his love to us. It was our choice to accept or reject, his gift.

1John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Notice the verse says God is love. Many today want to say love is God. But that is not what scripture says. God is the perfect definition of love. He loves a world that for the most part doesn’t accept Him, believe Him or want anything to do with Him. But God loves the world anyway.

I Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8a Charity never faileth:

The passage of scripture above comes from what we call the love chapter. If you will note the word love does not appear, but the word charity which in the Greek was agape which means love. Do not these descriptions of charity describe God?

Now I hope you see you are loved and are loved with a powerful love. We are to love our selves but not only our selves but others as well.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Love God for He loves you and love your neighbour also. Tell someone you love that you love them today.

HAVE A GREAT DAY
