Almost Persuaded
Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuaded me to be a Christian.
Paul was just finishing his defense of the Gospel, when Agrippa stated that he almost persuaded
him to become a Christian. Many has been the person that has been almost persuaded and died lost. I fear this is what happened to Agrippa as there is never any mention of his conversion.
Have you ever been almost persuaded to do something and in the final moments decided against it? When I was much younger I was almost talked into buying a car that I didn’t need. In hindsight it would have been a bad move all around as it was a souped up hot rod that could have gotten me killed. But just
beforeI bought it I walked away, which was a good move. Later on my wife and I were looking to buy a home close to my parents as my dad’s health was deteorating rapidly. We found one only a couple miles
away. We met with the realtor and the house was new and had some nice features which the realtor was quick to point out. He told us the asking price and we talked about it and decided to counter offer a low ball amount. Suprisingly we were called in a couple of hours that the owner would accept our offer if we would meet certain stiplations. One of which was a questionable thing although not an illegal thing.
Again we walked away and later we went back when another realtor had it and saw things we hadn’t seen
I have seen people almost persuaded to be saved but they walked away in the end. I was called to the hospital room of a dying person, they still had their mind, stated they wanted to be saved just not then. Then a few "short hours later slipped into unconsciousness until they passed away. I have often wondered how
they could be so close to salvation and turn away. Just as Agrippa was almost saved,he rejected Paul and the covicting power of the Holy Ghost, many have been so close and then rejected. Almost saved is totally lost.
What about you, have you almost been saved or are you born again? Don’t say I hope I’m saved. The Bible tells us we can know :
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
So you can know, you may have had a time where you were almost saved but did not accept Jesus. If this is you may I implore you to come to Jesus now and be saved and no longer be almost but totally saved.
Have a great day
