Are You Faithful

1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Are you faithful to Christ? I am afraid that the main reason for the decline in churches today is that the members are not faithful to the Lord. Far too many are more faithful to the cares of this world than they are Jesus. It is evident in the number of churches that are closing every month, that the congregation is not faithful. The verse above says it is required that stewards be found faithful. Who are stewards? First it pertains to the pastor of the church, but it’s not just him, it would be all that have been saved. With salvation comes responsibility, it is not a sit down and wait on the Lord’s coming. We have work to do. Understand we don[t work to be saved but we work because we are saved. So I ask you are you faithful to Christ?

Are you faithful to your local Church? If you hold a position, whether it be a deacon, teacher, usher or just one that opens the door for folks, are you faithful? It is hard to expect others to be faithful if you are not setting the example how should you expect anyone else to be faithful. Years ago there was a Sunday School teacher that attended the church where I attended and he was not faithful. He might come on Sunday morning but Sunday night and Wednesday night was out of the question. You could not say that he was faithful but yet he was put in year after year as a teacher. Finally there had to be a come to Jesus meeting with him and it was put to him to either get faithful or resign. He got faithful. Not only was his unfaithfulness affecting him it was setting a bad example for the young people. It looked to them as if the teacher just coming every now and again it must be ok and so they really didn’t need to go all the time either. But it’s not just to the folks in a position in the church it applies to all the members that they should be found faithful as well. Being faithful to little Johnny’s T-Ball team is not being faithful to your church. Watching a preacher in Timbuktu instead of going to your church is not being faithful to your church. He doesn’t know you, he won’t visit you or pray for you when you are sick. But, guess who will, your Pastor of your church. If you are not faithful to your church and you are physically able to, shame on you. Whatever position you are in, leadership or just serving be faithful.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching

There is much more that could be said on this matter but, the words below are what I want to hear the Lord to say when I stand before Him

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Be faithful

Have a great day
