I Don't Care

I DON’T CARE

2 Kings 20:19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

In the previous verses of this chapter Hezekiah had just heard from Isaiah how that strangers would come and carry away to Babylon all that his fathers had laid up in store, as well as his children. Then Hezekiah seems to say, I don’t care, as long as there are good days while I live. I will give him credit for saying good is the word of the Lord, which it is even when it is contrary to what we want to hear. The Word will stand when nothing else does, because it comes from God.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Maybe I’m misreading the intent of Hezekiah, but it would seem to accept the judgment that would come upon Judah, but he also thought it would be good to have none of it happen in his lifetime. I feel like we today have somewhat of the latter view he had. We want things smooth and easy for us, but there is a time coming when judgment will come upon our land just as it did a few years after Hezekiah died. We should be concerned that people are dying and going to hell everyday. But many that are saved are not really concerned with that. People are leaving the church all across our nation and the attitude of many is we’re better off without them. In other words, I don’t care. What if Jesus had not cared about a lost and dying people? You see he cared enough to die that men might be saved. He was willing to leave heaven at the Father’s request and come and take up a fleshly body and to suffer many things that He did not deserve, just to redeem a people to Him. He did care. Do you, are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and do something for the cause of Christ or do you want to say I’m saved and doing pretty good. I don’t see the need to do anything or I don’t care enough to do anything as long as I have smooth sailing until I pull onto Heaven’s shore.

DO YOU CARE?

Have a great day!
