IF

IF

Two letters form a little word that puts so much weight on what is being said,

and we use the word “if” numerous times daily in our conversations. It puts a condition on what is being said. I want to look at two verses whee “if” is the key component in each verse.

II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The church says it wants revival today. But according to this passage there are conditions that have to be met. Notice that “if” puts the conditions on us. If his people, in the Old Testament that waa the Jews in our time it is the Christian, the born again, which are called by his name. If we will humble ourselves, submit to Him, pray and seek His face and repent. Having done all these the condition is met and He says that He will hear, forgive and heal their land. We need this in our land today. Are you willing to meet the conditions that revival will come into your life and then into the life of your church and go from there to the community and from there around the nation? It will never happen unless we are willing to act on the conditions set by “if”.

Then, I believe Jesus gave us a pattern to see men drawn to him, and if they are drawn to him some will be saved.

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Notice, he said if he be lifted up will draw all men unto himself. Again a condition is set. I know he was speaking of the cross where he was crucified, but could he not have also been talking about us lifting him up with our praise? If we meet the conditions for revival then we will have no problem praising Him. Have you ever noticed when in a service where praises for our Lord are abundant that there is a draw, where many come to the altar to pray? Again, we just don’t seem to want to meet the condition.

Would you be willing to meet the conditions for revival and to see men drawn to Christ and to salvation? Your pastor can’t do it for you. He can meet the conditions with you, but it comes down to us as individuals. Will you meet the “if” set before you?

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!
