Jesus Is......

JESUS IS ……..

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus said much in this verse as he spoke to Thomas. There are 5 truths spoken in this that we will look at.

Some may think that the first statement is taken out of context but I do not think we would be wrong in looking at it in this way. He said “I am”, He is I am. There is none above or beside Him. In today’s speech it would say He is it. There are none equal to Him. This is what God told Moses when He sent Moses to Pharaoh

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

This shows us that Jesus and God are one.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Besides being “I am” he is “the way”. He is not a way or an option, but this designates him as the only one. There is one route to God and Jesus is it. I have heard some argue that there are many roads that lead to town and that you can get there many ways, by walking, riding, driving or flying. But we are not going to town we are coming to God and Jesus is the only way.

Next He says “I am the truth”. He was truth embodied, he knew no falsehood of himself, only that of others. We are not able to say that we are truth, for we are scared by the results of sin where Jesus was not. Pilate asked Jesus what is truth when the truth was standing right before his eyes. He came to show truth, and we can hear his voice because we are of the truth.

Next He says “I am the life”. He is the giver of life. If we will accept Him we shall have everlasting life.

John10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Finally He says “no man cometh unto the Father but by me”. There it is no man that can work his way to God, live good enough to get to God but we must come by Jesus Christ. He was crucified, buried rose again from the dead, so you and I could come to God.

I hope you know this man the I am and the way and the truth and the life and have trusted Him to save you and to present you to God as one of His own.

Have a great day
