Joy

JOY

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Today one thing I see disappearing in our land is joy, from our homes, work places, and churches, Nearly everywhere you turn people are unhappy and feel that everything is just going to ruin. Let me take just a few words and try to encourage you.

James said to count it all joy and all still means everything. So in everything we are told to count it joy. In sickness, health, rich, poor, in a pandemic or whatever circumstance you find yourself in. James says when you fall into divers temptations, which is different types of temptations, the definition of the Greek word for temptations here also can mean difficulties or trials. So whatever comes against you count it joy. I know you are saying, “you want me to count this pain I have as joy, you have never had real pain” I know it is hard sometimes to count hurt as joy, but let me give you a few things that we can still find joy in, no matter what.

First if you are saved, then no circumstance can change that and we can have joy.

No pain, heartache, virus or politician can take that from you. In this we can always find joy. King David had lost the joy of his salvation because of sin and pleaded for his joy to be restored.

Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Next know Jesus’ promises are true and tried and He has never failed on one promise He has made. If He said it you can count on it to come to pass.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Thirdly, He offers a peace that is like none other. The only way you don’t have peace is if you let circumstance steal it from you. But I’m thankful for the peace I have experienced down through the years and being able to have joy because of it.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

So you see my friend joy comes by one and that one is Jesus Christ. If you belong to Him you can have joy.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

I will leave you with this: Phillipians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Joy in the Lord always and then rejoice some more.

Have a great day!!
