The Creator
The Creator
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters
Here is one of the bedrocks of our faith, if you can’t believe that God did created the heavens and the earth as these verses record, then how can you believe anything else that is written in the Bible? It does not lend room for evolution, or any other far fetched ideas that man has came up with over the centuries. God created the heaven and earth and therefore it all belongs to Him.
We can’t imagine what that first state of the earth was because the scripture says it was void and without form and dark. The Hebrew word for void is tohuw, pronounces tohoo. It’s meaning is: to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), a worthless thing; in vain:--confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness. Void in Hebrew is bohuw, pronounced boohoo which means emptiness.
So when He created the earth it was a worthless thing and empty. But when His Spirit moved upon His creation what a difference it made.
This leads me to the thought of what our lives were before we came to Christ. I know my life was a waste and empty and a cloud of darkness surrounded me on the outside and there was darkness on the inside. But when the Holy Ghost, which is the Spirit of God, moved on my life, what changes came into my life. Mind you my changes were slower than those on the creation days. For scripture shows us God said and it was done immediately. I was drawn by the Spirit, but, I did not respond the first time that the draw was upon me. Eventually I did and I came with faith knowing who Jesus was and what he had done for the entire world and I accepted the free gift of salvation. I was a new creature in Christ the weight of conviction was lifted off me.
As you read this I would like to ask you a question. Has there been a time in your life when the Spirit of God moved upon you and drew you to Him? Many have just decided on their own to walk down an aisle, because of pressure from parents, peers or maybe a over zealous pastor. If you have never been drawn, according to scripture you probably not saved. Here is what scripture says:
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Notice Jesus says except the Father draw you can’t come to Him. I know some may say that doesn’t say the Spirit, let me give you another scripture that tells us that God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are one.
1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
I pray the Creator has created a new creation in you
2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Have a great day
