Words

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Kind and fitly spoken words can help each of us to go a little further in our daily walk. You never know when just a warm thank you or a true compliment may impact someone that is having a really hard time. I can think of many who have given a pleasant or fitly spoken word, maybe in person or a phone call or even a text at just the time I needed to hear it. These are encouragers, and we all should strive to be an encourager, and not be a discourager

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Then there are those that think their calling in life is to make others miserable, even people they don’t know. Always speaking negativity, and really seem to take pride in making others uncomfortable and lessen their self esteem. Let me just say it, some people are nasty, not in their hygiene or dress, but in their attacks on others. Listen as one who has been subject to many unkind and hurtful words over the years, words do matter. I was born fat and will probably die fat. I’ve lost more weight over the years than some of you have ever weighed. I don’t need to be told you’re fat, but that has not stopped since a very early age until now. Look I know who I am and that I am not the perfect male specimen, but I am who GOD made me. I don’t need a constant reminder nor do you need to be reminded of your flaws. But some people don’t realize that their words kill, not in a physical sense but in a emotional or mental sense. And no I am not having a pity party for myself. Just the opposite. I want people to realize you are not what people say about you, but you are what you make of yourself, if you follow God’s plans for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Choose your words carefully, choose words for life.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Have a great day
