GUARD YOUR HEART

GUARD YOUR HEART

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The verse above tells us to guard our heart and mind. In the Hebrew the word keep is natsar which means: guard or keep and the word heart here in Hebrew is leb which means: the feelings, the will and even the intellect; the center of anything. The rest of the verse says out of it are the issues of life and we know that from the heart in the physical flows the live giving blood we need to live. If the heart doesn’t function properly then we don’t function properly. Likewise if we take the Hebrew meaning of the mind or feelings, if the mind doesn’t function properly then we don’t function properly.

It seems when we are weak, due to health issues, family problems and finances or just weary from the spiritual battle we may be in, that the attacks seem to come. The enemy seems to come and start attacking. Has anyone ever heard these things in a time of distress? You’re done, for you are just getting sicker and sicker and there is nothing that can be done for you. Or maybe, there is no hope for this situation, they never will come around and do right. Then maybe you have heard, all the hard work you’ve done is all for nothing. What have you got to show for it? You’re broke and there’s no way out. I wonder if anyone has ever heard, you’ve failed miserably at being a Christian. If you were really saved you would have been a better preacher, teacher, singer, soul winner or had a better prayer life. Friend I want you to know that the devil is a liar and the father of it, this according to Jesus himself. Know this friend, Jesus has not forgotten you or forsaken you according to His words.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

According to God’s word, by believing and confessing Christ you are saved. But having said that, because you are saved you will live a different life, not to be saved but because you are saved. So guard your heart from the attacks of the enemy

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
