An Amazing Verse
AN AMAZING VERSE
I awoke with this thought on my mind this morning and can’t let it go. What is the most known verse in the Bible? I say it is John 3:16. Everyone who has been to Church or Sunday School has or should have been exposed frequently to this scripture, for in it is the Gospel in a nutshell. Let’s look at 5 amazing things in this verse
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1. AMAZING LOVE: “For God so loved.”
Don’t you find it amazing that God loved someone like us so much? We had nothing to offer Him but He had everything to offer us.
Romans 5:8 But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
That is truly amazing.
2. AMAZING SACRIFICE: “that He gave His only begotten Son”
I don’t have a son, but if I did I don’t think I could ever give him for someone like me. I find it amazing that God willingly gave His son for us.
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
3. AMAZING OPPORTUNITY: “that whosoever believeth in Him”
I am so glad to be a whosoever, you are one too. Isn’t that amazing that God has given us the opportunity to be right with Him?
4. AMAZING DELIVERANCE: ”whosoever believeth in Him should not perish”
Isn’t that amazing, that God would make it so we could escape the second death if we will only believe?
5. AMAZING GIFT: “have eternal life”.
This is simply amazing that a Holy, Just and Righteous God would offer this precious gift to a people like us. Can you imagine living forever with Him? Jesus died in order to prepare the way for us, then He is preparing a place for us. So that we can be where He is for all eternity. PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
