Do You Believe

DO YOU BELIEVE?

Daniel 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

King Darius had been tricked, by the other presidents and princes of the land, into signing a decree that no one could make petition of any other god or man for thirty day. They did this knowing full well that Daniel prayed to the one true and living God three times a day. Of course when they saw him open his window and begin to pray they ran to Darius and told on Daniel, knowing that he would be cast into a den of lions. They just knew they were not going to have Daniel over them anymore. But they didn’t know the God Daniel prayed to. Darius had tried to reverse the punishment for Daniel but under their law a decree could not be reversed.

All that gets us to the verse I used to start this writing with. Notice as Daniel was cast into the den of lions what Darius said, “Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.” This would lead us to think that Darius thought God would deliver Daniel. But did he really believe what he said? Notice what he says the next morning when he comes to the den of lions.

Daniel 6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

He cried with a lamentable voice, sounds like he was sad and expecting the worse. Next he asks if Daniel’s God was able to deliver him from the lions. It doesn’t sound like he was expecting Daniel to answer him. Today I fear many people are like Darius, they talk of praying with great faith knowing God can heal or deliver. Then in the next breath say bless their heart there is nothing that can be done or in a case of sickness, they will say there is no hope. Can I inform you that as long as God is on the throne there is hope. If I ask for prayer, if you don’t believe there is anything that can be done just don’t pray. I want people praying for me that know that God can deliver. Why would I think that, because He has done it in the past and He has not lost one iota of power, also because He is not a respecter of persons,

When you pray do you believe God will answer you? He answers every prayer in one of three ways: yes, no or wait. But be sure He will answer and yes if it is His will He can still heal those on a death bed, or near death. He can answer when man says there is no hope, or no way out He will make a way.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Have a great day!
