Good News
GOOD NEWS
Proverbs 25:25 As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
Today we are living in a time which we have never experienced in our lifetime, and with each passing day all we hear seemingly is bad news on every hand. If you listen to the news any at all you will hear conflicting models and statistics on the pandemic. I saw a cartoon today that was funny but I’m afraid there is more truth in it than we would like to think. There was a desk with two people behind it and the caption said “we will be right back with more news as soon as we make some up”. Sounds funny but it would seem that is where we are today. Everybody is an “expert” and all the “experts” seem to disagree. Some say we all are going to die, some say a lot will die, and some say not many will die. But I want to point you to an expert that knows what he is talking about and to his writings on life in general, the pandemic included as well. Oh by the way, His news is good news. If you haven’t already decided I’m talking about God. He saw these days from before the beginning and sent us a book. It is called the Bible in which He gives us answers for times like these. Let’s look at some good news from that book.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God gives us a plan for revival and healing of our land. Are you willing to follow this plan? Its good news but only if we follow His guidelines
Then in Hebrews 13:5 He tells us He will never leave us or forsake us, the us being the saved, the redeemed. Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:20 He will be with us to the end of the world. That’s some good news if ever I heard any.
Then in John 3:16 we are told how much God loves us, He sent His only Son to die for us that we might be saved if only we will believe. We then are told in Romans 5:8 how that God loved us while we were sinners that Christ died for us. That is some good news how someone like me could be so loved by the One that hung the sun, moon and stars. How one who is high holy and separate from sinners could love a sinner like me and send His Son to die for my sin, to pay a debt I could not ever pay. That, my friend is good news!
Let me give you just a few more bits of good news. We are told in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That doesn’t leave anyone out except those that won’t call and believe, for you would have to believe in order to call. For those that are saved, Jesus tells us in John 14:1-3 to not be troubled, believe in God and also in Him. He tells us He is going to prepare a place for us and will come again and get us to take us where He is. Best news yet, this world is not my final home, I get to go where Jesus is, where there will be no more bad news, Hallelujah.
Get good news daily not from NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN or FOX. They all have bad news. Get your Bible and read it, you will find good news every time. For that is where you find the promises of God and He wants good for you and I.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
