He Is Risen

Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

As Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome came to the tomb where Jesus had been laid, carrying spices that were used to anoint the dead. In Mark’s gospel 3 women were mentioned by name. In Matthew’s he mentions 2 women by name. in Luke no one is named and in John he names only Mary Magdalene. Many want to say that the writers couldn’t get their stories straight. I would offer as a rebuttal to that, in that 2 people can see the same thing and each account will differ from the other. I was witness to a car accident many years ago and the guy that was beside me had the same view I did but we each saw something the other didn’t see.  

 This Sunday morning these women came seeking Jesus to give him a proper burial but something occurred that had never happened before! A man, (not just any man but the God Man Jesus Christ) got up from the hold of death and showed the world an empty grave. In doing so He gave hope to you and me. We all had a debt that we could not pay, but, Jesus came and took our debt on Himself and now the debt has been paid and all you have to do is receive the gift of salvation. This was made possible by three words spoken by the angel. HE IS RISEN no sweeter words have ever been spoken. Think about it, Jesus Christ is the only one who was ever buried and got up and left an empty grave. Jesus Himself gave life back to the dead 3 times that is recorded in the Bible, Jairus’ daughter, the widow of Nain’s son and Lazarus. But, they all were buried again when they passed from this life to eternity. If it weren’t true it would seem as a fairy tale but we know He was seen after His resurrection of more than 500 at one time plus James and the apostles. Then Paul said lastly by him.

 As we are in the Easter season know that HE IS RISEN is why we are Christians and have hope because of Resurrection Sunday.

HE IS RISEN INDEED AND LIVES FOR EVERMORE!!! HALLELUJAH !!!
