Peace On Earth

Luke 2:11-14 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

On this night the shepherds were visited by an angel and given a promise that they would find a baby lying in a manger in Bethlehem. He was not just a baby but the Christ who was the Saviour of the world. Then the heavenly host appeared and made this proclamation. “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men”. Notice they said on earth peace, I think they were saying there would be peace available to those that would accept him.

If you have Jesus you have peace that passes all understanding. The world does not understand how in the middle of trouble and turmoil we have peace. We still have troubles but we have Jesus and He gives us comfort at all times.
