The Won't Listen
THEY WON’T LISTEN
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
The Lord gave Jeremiah a message to give to the people of Israel. He was faithful in delivering the message but they declared that they would not obey. We have been given messages in the day that we live. The Bible gives us clear directions for living, preachers give us this same message as do teachers. But, just as in Jeremiah’s day many have said we will not listen nor obey. God’s ways are the best. Many have the Ford mentality of a, “a better idea”. Scripture tells us that many think they know best.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Many today don’t like the old ways, thinking that they are outdated and don’t work anymore. I think I’ll just stick with the old stuff. I like preaching from the Bible by a man that is called by God and anointed with the Holy Ghost. I like the old songs that have a biblical message that are sung unto the Lord and not for entertainment. There is some new stuff that has the right message and is anointed. My personal preference is not the new 7-11 songs (7 words sung over and over 11 times). I like worship where people aren’t afraid to praise the Lord and do so loudly, but decently and in order. I just like the old time way of having church. Some cannot tolerate this type of services. Some even have called the way we have church as being a cult. If your church is spiritually sick and you are looking for healing for it look to the old paths that our forefathers trod and made a way for us. Don’t just go thru the motions of having church come into the house to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with all that is within you.
He also told them he had set watchmen over them to sound the trumpet, but the people said we won’t listen to the warning. Far too many are being warned today but have hardened their hearts and decided not to listen to the warning. The warning being this: you are going to die, and if you die without Jesus Christ then you are doomed to Hell for all eternity. But countless numbers have decided not to listen to the warning given. Friend life will be easier for you here and in eternity if you will heed the message and worship in the old time way and heed the warning given to us all.
