What a Difference A Day Made!
What a Difference a Day Made!
Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
As these ladies came to the place where they had laid the body of Jesus, their memories were of a lifeless body being taken down from a cross, being wrapped in burial clothes. They came with the intent of giving him a proper burial with ointments and spices. Notice it was the first day of the week, a new day dawning and they had no idea that their lives were about to be forever changed by the revelation of what had taken place on the new day.
Other scripture tells that a angel rolled the stone away, which had been a concern for they knew they couldn’t roll the stone back themselves. They found it rolled back and found an empty tomb. Can you imagine their dismay? Scripture says they were perplexed. Then two men in shining garments asked them “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”
What a difference a day had made! If you had passed the tomb the day before it would have been shut and sealed. But today it’s open and empty. Where a dead man had laid a few hours before, he is up and around and alive for evermore.
Back in 2006, the night before Easter, my father-in-law passed away. All I could think about that night was what a difference a day made! He went from a hospital bed, unable to walk, and could only say a word or two at a time, to a place where there are no hospitals, no sickness ever again. But the greatest thing of all is that he went from the land of the dying to a land of living into the presence of the one who had got up from the dead for all the world. He had trusted Jesus as savior many years before and that day made a difference on the day he left this world.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
What a difference that day, when God raised up Jesus from the dead, has made for all those that have believed and confessed Christ.
Have a great day
