Thanksgiving

This is the week that we celebrate a day of thanksgiving. It falls on the fourth Thursday of November each year. The date of its beginning is in debate as some say it started in 1619 others say 1621 while others say it began in 1631. It was a time set aside for giving thanks for the harvest that the first settlers, the Pilgrims and Puritans, had harvested.

Did Jesus Ever Show A Sense Of Humor

Rhaphis: pronounced hraf-ece' which means to sew, puncture or a needle. What would you do if you had heard that said? I would have laughed because it’s not humanly possible but if God wills it, it could happen. I don’t know if Jesus meant to be humorous here or not. But part of me thinks that He just may have been. The Lord Is Coming

In verse 4 we are told that His feet will stand on the mount of Olives and the mountain shall spilt with half of it falling toward the north and the other half toward the south. I know we still have the Covid virus and some have health issues that prevent them from being around others at this time. But there are others that are going everywhere else and doing other things. They are neglecting the things of God not only in this area but in other areas of their lives as well. Matthew tells us to seek God’s kingdom first and His righteousness and you will be clothed and fed.

Trouble Is Coming

Prophecy has a near and a far meaning and in these scriptures maybe an intermediate meaning. For on 9/11/2001 we saw men and women weeping, there was trouble and distress, buildings (high towers) were destroyed. There were clouds of smoke from fires and the falling buildings. The skies over New York City were filled with ash and dust clouds, It is easy to see the comparison. But this was not the Day of the Lord. 9/11 will pale in comparison to that day. Be ready to go and be with the Lord and according to scripture you won’t have to worry about the day of wrath
