The Lord Uses The Unlikely

So the next time you think God can’t use you just remember these and know if God can use them, He can use you as well. Really we have no more excuses. He will qualify you if He calls you and remember you are just a carrier of His message and if you deliver it, you have done that which you were called to do. It is what the hearer does with it that matters. You can’t make them receive it, you just have to deliver.

The book of Hosea begins with God telling him to take a wife who was guilty of whoredoms. It was a picture of what God was willing to do for Israel, as He was willing to take them back if they would leave their adulterous ways. But like Hosea’s wife Gomer they went away from God. Gomer left Hosea and took up with other lovers and finally found herself in slavery. Hosea went and bought her back. God has taken Israel back time and time again.

God Is Compassionate

In verse 23 we are told that they, the Lord’s mercies and compassions are new every morning. Not that it is a different thing but they are fresh and alive. Isn’t that a great thought that your trouble or trial may seem worse, but God’s compassion and mercy is just as it was the day before and if you can look at His goodness and grace it will bring hope and help to your situation.

Are You Willing To Go

This is a question that each of us must answer for ourselves, I cannot answer for you and neither can you answer for me. If you are in Christ there is a call for you to go somewhere for Him. It may only be to your family and friends, or it could be to your community or workplace. It may even be that you have been called to the ministry and are sent to a place outside of where you know or are known. You may be called to preach the gospel or to be a foreign missionary. Whatever it may be you can be sure if Christ saved you along with salvation comes a call.

I Ain't Got Time

Let me say this though sometimes you have to come off the wall, sickness may overtake you, or your family. In the past 14 months it seems that this pandemic has caused us to come off the wall and not be able to do all the work we wanted to do and knew should be done.

But Praise the Lord, hopefully things are turning around and we may be able to get back to doing the work of ministry we had been accustomed to before all this started.
